Department of Forestry, Uttaranchal (P.G) College of Bio-Medical Sciences and Hospital celebrated Wildlife Week from 06 – 07 October, 2020 and the theme for the program was “Sustaining all life on earth”. On the occasion of Wildlife week, Department of Forestry had organised a webinar on the 7th of October 2020.
The programme aimed at creating awareness among the youth to have a passionate heart for the biodiversity around them. During the celebration, several competitions (essay presentation, poster presentation and photography presentation) for students were organized to raise consciousness in favour of wildlife preservation.
The event was enlightened by the presence of our guest speakers Mr. Shravan Suthar and Mr. Bikash Ghimire as they shared commendable talk on the subject. They have cleared the concepts and enhanced our understanding on the topics- “Camera trap for wildlife monitoring” and “Conservation of Vultures”. A session was kept separately after each lecture for interacting with the speakers which proved to be informative and fruitful as the students were actively participating in the session.
