Generally fruits and vegetables are almost exclusive source of nutraceutical compounds in human diet. However, flowers are proved to be important sources of several bioactive compounds. If you are worried about ways to get benefits from flowers, these can be taken in the diet as food. In the older time rather than their nutritional value flowers were mainly eaten for their medicinal properties. Nowadays, several studies revealed the presence of important bioactive molecules in chemical compositions of different types of wild and ornamental flowers.
