Langsat is a wild fruit plant scientifically known as Lansium domesticum which is extensively found in the South East Asia including India. This plant bears small edible fruits. These fruits are similar to potatoes on their outer appearance and inside they have a white flesh containing inedible, bitter seeds. Langsat originated in the Southeast Asian regions. The larger size variety of langsat is known as Duku. The fruit is rich in minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, etc. It is a great source of anti-oxidant and Vitamin-C. It strengthens teeth and maintains healthy gums and improves immune system. It also improves digestion as it contains fibre in great quantity. It also controls cholesterol and maintains healthy skin.
