BIONIC EYE

Currently, 40 million people had suffered from blindness and about 140 million people are suffering from low vision aid. India has the world’s largest no. of people suffering from blindness.
To restore visual signal to those who are the sufferers of eye disease or being blind due to those disease and having low vision, there is an objective called BIONIC EYE.
BIONIC EYE is refers to Bio-electronic eye, in which a video camera is integrated with a pair of glasses which will capture and process images. The images are wirelessly sent to small processor which converts it into electronic signal and these signal further transmitted to a retinal implant or electrode which send visual signal to brain for further processing. So, by this even blind people also have vision.

BIONIC EYE

As we know that the light ray reflected from an object reaches to our eye by optic nerves and then these signal sent to the brain after that brain decodes those signals in order to optimize, location and movement of the object that a person cans see. This whole process is called visual pathway.

BIONIC EYE consist of image sensors, microprocessors, receiver, radio transmitters and retinal chips, computer chip which kept in the back of effected person eye and linked with a mini video cameras built onto glasses that a person wears . The images produced by BIONIC EYE is not so clear or not so perfect but enough to recognize.
