USES OF ROSE HIPS

Rose hip

Different uses of rose petals are already very well known. Rose petals are used in many ways from external application as cosmetics to culinary. But other parts of rose plant are also rich in medicinal properties.One of such part is rose hip. Rose hips are the seed pods or fruit of roses—the edible fruit that remains after the blooms dry. These are great addition to use in jellies, sauces, seasonings or tea.Rose hips are also added to cosmetics. Itis a rich source of Vit. C and contains about 1700-2000mg per 100g DW.Its other uses are as:
• Remedy for rheumatoid arthritis
• Beneficial in knee and hip osteoarthritis
• Helps to improve the immune system Facilitates fat metabolism
• Helps the nervous system
• Prevents scurvy by supplementing vit. C
• Protects joints and connective tissues
• Protects adrenal function
• Prevents urinary bladder infections
• Assists in treating dizziness and headaches
• Used externally in cosmetics as oil form to restore firmness to skin by nourishing and astringing tissue
• Helps to treat constipation; and
• Rose hips contain of iron, so consumption of rose hip tea is good during menstruation to make up for iron loss.
